CALL FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST
In the framework of the implementation of the project entitled "Safe Areas for Unaccompanied Migrant Children (Samos, Leros, Chios and Kos islands)", where the Project Manager is the Ministry of Immigration and Asylum through the General Secretariat for Vulnerable Citizens and Institutional Protection, in the framework of the Support Measure Agreement between the Ministry of Immigration and Asylum of Greece and the State Secretariat for Migration of Switzerland, on the basis of which the project of providing child protection and integrated care services to unaccompanied minors in the Safe Areas of the Closed Controlled Areas of Samos, Leros, Chios and Kos will be funded, we are looking for a partner to join our team as a Somali Interpreter - Caregiver in the KED of Chios.

Candidates who will be invited for an interview should provide/send the following:
1.A photocopy of the identity card.
2.Photocopies of diplomas, certificates of qualification, certificates of knowledge and professional licence (for the posts required).
3.Letters of reference (if available), or contact details of a third party who will be able to provide references for the candidate(s).
The overall evaluation will be based on qualifications, experience ,any references, and job interview, Candidates will be listed based on the evaluation in a rank order, which will be used in the event of non-acceptance of assignments or resignations.
Selected candidates may be invited to take up their duties immediately.

The positions are on a full-time basis. The place of employment will be the Safe Zone (KED Xiou).
The selected candidates should have the possibility to work in different shifts (morning, afternoon and evening), as well as during the weekend.
The following is a description of the duties of the position, as well as the necessary and desirable qualifications for this position:
Caregiver - Somali Interpreter (Int_Care):
Qualifications:
1) Excellent knowledge of Somali and good knowledge of Greek and/or English Language.
2) Knowledge of additional languages/dialects will be taken into consideration
3) Previous relevant work experience
4) Driver's license
5) Communication skills
6) Spirit of cooperation and teamwork
7) Integrity and responsibility
8) Ability to negotiate, problem-solve and deal with the difficulties of a humanitarian emergency environment
Key responsibilities
1) Facilitate communication, through interpretation and/or translation in a language that each unaccompanied minor understands, verbally and/or in writing, between the minor and the interdisciplinary team and/or public agencies, services and institutions with which they come into contact.
2) Participates in the implementation of the psychosocial support, educational and recreational programs and ensures that the daily schedule of the juveniles is followed, in collaboration with the social worker and other scientific staff. Accompanying minors in activities and supervising their participation in them, if necessary.
3) Contributes to the observance of health and safety rules.
4) Ensures that normal relations between minors are maintained by facilitating positive communication between them
5) Ensure that the rights of minors are protected and that their privacy is protected
6) Records entry and exit from the Safe Area and monitors public areas.
7) Records incidents, observes the condition of minors and notifies scientific staff of situations requiring immediate attention, and any other emergency situation requiring guidance, direction and special handling.
8) Attends staff meetings and completes reports pertaining to staff duties.

ZEUXIS in the context of its assessment of the application will, at its discretion, act towards seeking relevant information. The existence of incidents of misconduct in relation to such offences is clearly grounds for rejection of the application, and where the applicant has withheld relevant information or made a false statement is grounds for termination of the employment contract, if it is concluded. At the same time, the provisions on false declaration shall apply, and ZEUXIS reserves all its rights.
DECLARATION OF CONFIDENTIALITY
The examination of CVs will be treated in strict confidence. CVs will be kept on file for a period of 5 years. In the event that the post is not filled, Zeuxis may contact the candidates who have applied again.
